YWCA

As part of a collaborative project spearheaded by Week of the Website, we contributed to designing and developing the new official website for the YWCA, as well as a flexible and comprehensive template to ensure consistency and ease of customization for all YWCA associations nationwide.

We thoroughly researched the YWCA, tracing its historical roots to the present, to seamlessly integrate various visual elements from the organization’s evolving brand identity. Despite limited access to the brand’s original assets, we successfully located key components such as the white tape (referenced above) and the button (referenced to the right), strategically incorporating them as nostalgic callbacks. This deliberate inclusion aims to evoke pivotal moments in the brand's history.

The website homepage of YWCA Metropolitan Chicago, focusing on eliminating racism and empowering women. The top navigation menu includes options like Who We Are, Our Work, Events, Get Involved, YShop, News, and a Donate button. There are two main sections titled 'I Need Help' with a button for help and 'I Want To Help' with a button for involvement. The background images show a handshake and a table with brown paper bags.

Ensuring user-friendliness and accessibility were paramount for us. Our focus was on clear calls to action, catering to those seeking help or looking to offer support.

Rather than a generic donation request, we proposed specific dollar amounts with transparent explanations of how each contribution directly impacts or supports. This approach is designed to inspire increased donations by providing clarity on where the funds are allocated and how they make a difference.
